Termite inspections are needed before Termguard refills. The "check and fill" procedure is used to top up or re-fill chemicals, which takes around an hour. the replenishment follows Melbourne

Standard AS3660.1 Termite Management - New Building Work

And AS3660.2 In and Around Existing Buildings.

Why Termguard Refills Matter

Protecting your home from termites requires a chemical barrier. This barrier can be maintained two ways:

Reticulation System Refill 3-4 and 8 years of protection

Surface Spray Treatment is effective but less lasting than drill-and-inject barriers.

Both approaches are effective, but frequent maintenance ensures long-term protection.

Options for Termite Refill

You may replenish the orange termite guard pipe system with two chemicals:

Regular refills keep your Biflex Bifenthrin guarantee valid.

However, Termidor Fipronil is expensive and only used for active termites.

We install modern termite reticulation systems, including all others.

How Do Termite Reticulation Systems Work

A termite reticulation system uses underground plastic pipes with tiny pores to deliver poisons into the soil. The termite protection barrier (AS3660.1) is reinforced by installing this system around the concrete slab edge below the brickwork. For maximum efficacy, refill the chemical every three to ten years.

Termite Prevention Before Construction

Our crew installs 100mm termite collars around pipe penetrations and a perimeter chemical reticulation system before laying concrete. To maintain termite resistance, the system is replenished every three to ten years after completion.

Termite Reticulation System Refill, 4 or 8 Years

A termite reticulation system with pipes surrounding a building works well. Filling the system with the right chemical follows installation. Reticulation system type determines chemical consumption.

How Many Years Does It Have To Be Filled

Termite reticulation system refills are needed every 4–8 years. This timeframe depends on the system's active chemical. Household environment also affects replenishment intervals.

What Happens If You Miss Your Refill

I recommend an inspection prior, then using the correct chemical strength and litres that go into the filler points, which are located in the small green boxes

12-month termite inspection

A 12-month termite inspection is the best preventive approach for homeowners. If a full termite barrier is not established, a 12-month check is advised.

Whether a comprehensive termite barrier is installed will affect inspection intervals.
